Brian Watson (@iambrianwatson on Twitter and Instagram) has been a leader and mentor within the gay community for more than thirty-five years. His translations of Japanese science fiction were nominated for awards in 2011 and are still in print. He reviews nonfiction for Hippocampus magazine and his craft essays appear in the BREVITY blog. White Enso selected his essay, Bending Time, for their nonfiction award. Cutbank named Unfolding, a braided essay, a finalist for the Montana Prize for Nonfiction. Columbia Journal also named Unfolding a finalist for their online nonfiction contest. His writing mentor is Garrard Conley, author of Boy Erased.
